The Santa Paula P.D. K9 Unit

The Santa Paula Police Department K9 Unit recognizes the interest the community has for our K9 Unit. We are honored to know that our community supports our K9 Unit so well through the Santa Paula Police and Fire Foundation. Our unit realizes we rely on you, as our community friends, to support our K9 Unit for funding. We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a Tax ID number of (26-1911132).

Our K9 Unit strives to educate the public about how our K9s plays a vital role as part of our law enforcement team through the Santa Paula Police website, the Peace Officers Association website, Social Media, and our demonstration events.

The mission of the Santa Paula Police and Fire Foundation is to assist with the cost of training and equipment for our K9 teams.

Meet Django

Santa Paula Police K9 Unit currently has two officers and their canines. Our K9s are currently assigned to Patrol, and are looking forward to being assigned to our SWAT Team in the future with additional training. Our K9 Officers respond to calls for service and crimes in progress such as robberies and burglaries. Currently, we are in need of additional training for our K9 officers in urban tracking suspects, and narcotics detection.

Meet ACE

We rely on our canine’s superior sense of smell, speed, vision, and agility to assist keeping our officers in the field safe. Our dogs are a tremendous asset to our patrol officers and can do the work of several officers in a fraction of the time.

Our foundation is funded through contributions from our community members and friends, sales of our t-shirt and memorabilia, and our fundraisers.
